ePost and ELVIDA solve different problems. ePost (a service by Swiss Post and KLARA Business AG) is a digital mailbox: you receive postal mail digitally, pay invoices directly and send digital letters. ELVIDA is your digital private administration: the AI automatically sorts all your documents into life areas, detects deadlines and keeps track of your insurance, taxes and contracts. In short: ePost brings your mail to your phone – ELVIDA brings order and overview to your entire administration. Many people use both together.
What is ePost?
ePost is the digital mailbox of Swiss Post and KLARA Business AG. You receive digital letters from connected senders free of charge, plus a document scanner and smart-tag filing. You can pay invoices directly in the app, sign contracts digitally and send digital letters from CHF 0.40.
With the optional ScanningService (CHF 9.90/month), your physical mail is redirected to the scanning center, opened, scanned and delivered digitally. Usage requires a SwissID and a verified Swiss address. Note: ePost is being integrated into the Post-App ("My digital mail"); the standalone ePost app will be discontinued at the end of December 2026.

Does ELVIDA replace a digital mailbox like ePost?
No. ELVIDA does not receive postal mail and does not redirect mail – that's what ePost is built for. ELVIDA organizes your documents: AI sorting into life areas, deadline reminders and an overview of insurance, taxes and contracts.
Can I use ELVIDA and ePost at the same time?
Yes, that's actually a sensible setup: ePost digitizes your postal mail, ELVIDA takes care of long-term organization and reminds you of deadlines. You can download documents from ePost and upload them to ELVIDA – with ELVIDA Assist also via email forwarding.
How much does ELVIDA cost compared to ePost?
Both have a free base version. With ePost, digital inbox, scanner and filing are free; the ScanningService for physical mail costs CHF 9.90 per month. With ELVIDA, unlimited documents and AI sorting are free forever; ELVIDA Assist with reminders and AI analysis costs CHF 12.90 per month (or CHF 129 per year) and can be cancelled monthly.
Where is my data stored?
In Switzerland with both providers. ELVIDA stores your documents exclusively on Swiss servers (Exoscale) and encrypts them right on your device with AES-256. ePost also states that all data is stored in Switzerland.
How do I switch from ePost to ELVIDA?
You don't have to "switch" – the services do different things. If you want to organize your ePost documents in ELVIDA: download them from ePost and upload them to ELVIDA. The AI automatically sorts them into the right life areas.
